1. Introduction

All of us face giants in life. They can be:

• family problems

• financial crises

• diseases

• emotional struggles

• fear of the future

• temptations and spiritual battles

These giants try to:

• frighten us

• paralyze us

• steal our faith

• make us doubt God’s promises

David faced a literal giant — Goliath — but his story teaches us how to face the spiritual and emotional giants that rise against us today.

“For the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.”
— 1 Samuel 17:47

2. Who was Goliath? — A picture of our problems

Goliath was:

• physically huge

• experienced in battle

• self-confident

• threatening

• mocking the people of God

Our giants often look the same way:
they seem bigger than us and repeat words of defeat, trying to convince us that there is no solution.

David did not look at the size of the giant — he looked at the greatness of his God.

“You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts.”
— 1 Samuel 17:45

3. David’s five stones — Spiritual weapons to defeat giants

David chose five smooth stones from the brook (1 Samuel 17:40).
They can symbolize spiritual weapons God places in our hands.

🪨 1st Stone – Faith

Faith allows you to see victory before it happens.

• Faith is not denying the problem

• Faith is believing that God is greater than the problem

“Without faith it is impossible to please God.” — Hebrews 11:6
“All things are possible to him who believes.” — Mark 9:23

David believed:

• God delivered him from the lion and the bear

• God would also deliver him from Goliath (1 Sam 17:37)

🪨 2nd Stone – Courage

Courage is not the absence of fear — it is acting despite fear.

“Fear not, for I am with you.” — Isaiah 41:10

Courage helps us:

• face difficult conversations

• make important decisions

• break with sin

• fight for change

🪨 3rd Stone – Determination

Determination is refusing to give up.

David was:

• criticized by his brothers

• underestimated by Saul

• mocked by Goliath

Yet he did not turn back.

“Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:58

🪨 4th Stone – Trust that God will give the victory

David did not trust Saul’s armor or his own strength — only God.

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will trust in the name of the Lord our God.”
— Psalm 20:7

When our trust is in God:

• anxiety weakens

• fear loses power

• hope is renewed

🪨 5th Stone – Strength

Not human strength — the strength that comes from the Lord.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
— Philippians 4:13

God gives us strength to:

• endure trials

• keep praying

• keep believing

• start again if needed

4. David used stones and faith — not a sword

David defeated Goliath with what God had already placed in his hands.

Giants will continue to rise.
The difference is not the size of the giant, but who fights for us.

🙏 Let's pray

Lord our God and Father,
we thank You because You are the same God who gave David victory over Goliath. We confess that we also face giants in our lives: problems, fears, sicknesses, worries, and inner battles. Today we declare that we do not fight alone, because the battle belongs to the Lord.

Give us faith to believe, courage to face our challenges, determination to keep going, full trust that You will give us victory, and strength that comes from Your Spirit. Help us look less at the size of our problems and more at the greatness of our God.

We place our giants before You and declare by faith that victory comes from the Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Todos nós enfrentamos gigantes ao longo da vida. Eles podem ser:

• crises financeiras

• nos paralisar

• roubar nossa fé

• nos fazer duvidar da promessa de Deus

Na Bíblia, Davi enfrentou um gigante literal — Golias — mas sua história nos ensina como enfrentar os gigantes espirituais e emocionais que se levantam contra nós hoje.

2. Quem era Golias? — A representação dos nossos problemas

Golias era:

• grande em estatura

• experiente guerreiro

• autoconfiante

• ameaçador

• insultava o povo de Deus

Assim também são nossos gigantes: parecem maiores do que nós, repetem pensamentos de derrota e tentam nos convencer de que não há solução.

Mas Davi não olhou para o tamanho do gigante — ele olhou para o tamanho do seu Deus.

“Tu vens a mim com espada, lança e dardo; porém eu vou a ti em nome do Senhor dos Exércitos.”
— 1 Samuel 17:45

3. As cinco pedras de Davi — Armas espirituais para vencer gigantes

Davi escolheu cinco pedras lisas do ribeiro (1 Samuel 17:40).
Essas pedras podem simbolizar as armas espirituais que Deus coloca em nossas mãos.

🪨 1ª Pedra – Fé

A fé faz você enxergar a vitória antes dela acontecer.

• Fé não é negar o problema

• Fé é crer que Deus é maior do que ele

“Sem fé é impossível agradar a Deus.” — Hebreus 11:6
“Tudo é possível ao que crê.” — Marcos 9:23

Davi tinha certeza:

• Deus já o livrara do leão e do urso

• Deus o livraria também de Golias (1 Sm 17:37)

🪨 2ª Pedra – Coragem

Coragem não é ausência de medo — é agir apesar dele.

Todo o exército estava com medo, mas Davi se levantou.

“Não temas, porque Eu sou contigo.” — Isaías 41:10

Coragem nos ajuda a:

• enfrentar conversas difíceis

• tomar decisões importantes

• romper com o pecado

• lutar por mudanças

🪨 3ª Pedra – Determinação

Determinação é não desistir no meio do caminho.

Davi:

• foi rejeitado pelos irmãos

• foi subestimado por Saul

• foi ridicularizado por Golias

Mas não voltou atrás.

“Sede firmes e constantes, sempre abundantes na obra do Senhor.”
— 1 Coríntios 15:58

🪨 4ª Pedra – Confiança em Deus

Ele não confiou na armadura de Saul, nem em si mesmo — somente no Senhor.

“Uns confiam em carros e outros em cavalos, mas nós faremos menção do nome do Senhor nosso Deus.”
— Salmo 20:7

Quando nossa confiança está em Deus:

• a ansiedade diminui

• o medo perde força

• a esperança renasce

🪨 5ª Pedra – Força

Não força humana, mas força que vem do Senhor.

“Posso todas as coisas naquele que me fortalece.”
— Filipenses 4:13

Deus nos dá força para:

• suportar provas

• continuar orando

• permanecer crendo

• recomeçar quando necessário

4. Davi usou pedra e fé — não espada

Davi derrotou Golias com o que Deus colocou em suas mãos.

👉 Deus te usa como você é

Gigantes continuarão se levantando.
A diferença não está no tamanho deles, mas em quem luta por nós.

Senhor nosso Deus e nosso Pai,
nós Te agradecemos porque tu és o mesmo Deus que deu vitória a Davi diante de Golias. Reconhecemos que também enfrentamos gigantes em nossa vida: problemas, medos, doenças, preocupações e lutas interiores. Mas hoje declaramos que não lutamos sozinhos, pois a batalha é Tua.

Dá-nos fé para crer, coragem para enfrentar, determinação para continuar, confiança plena em Ti e força que vem do Teu Espírito. Que possamos olhar menos para o tamanho dos nossos problemas e mais para o tamanho do nosso Deus.

Entregamos nossos gigantes diante de Ti e declaramos, pela fé, que a vitória vem do Senhor. Em nome de Jesus, amém.

God never leave us

 

                                                               

One of the greatest struggles in the Christian life is dealing with feelings of loneliness, especially during times of pain, loss, trials, or when God seems silent. However, God’s Word repeatedly assures us that He never abandons us. Even when we do not feel Him, He remains present, faithful, and at work.

1. God’s constant promise of His presence

From the Old Testament onward, God affirms His continual presence with His people.

📖 “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
(Joshua 1:5)

This promise was not only for Joshua, but it reveals God’s unchanging character. He is a God who walks with His people, even into the unknown.

📖 “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.”
(Psalm 23:4)

God’s presence does not remove the valleys, but it guarantees guidance, protection, and comfort within them.

2. God remains even when we fail

Often we believe God withdraws because of our mistakes, weaknesses, or sins. Yet Scripture teaches that His faithfulness does not depend on our perfection.

📖 “If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.”
(2 Timothy 2:13)

God’s love is gracious and restorative. He corrects and disciplines, but He never abandons His children.

📖 “The Lord will not forsake His people; He will not abandon His heritage.”
(Psalm 94:14)

3. Jesus: the living proof that God is with us

In Jesus, we see the greatest evidence that God does not abandon us.

📖 “They shall call His name Immanuel (which means, God with us).”
(Matthew 1:23)

Even on the cross, when Jesus experienced deep suffering, God’s redemptive plan was being fulfilled. His resurrection proves that abandonment never has the final word.

📖 “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
(Matthew 28:20)

4. Application to the Christian life

Believing that God never abandons us empowers us to:

• Persevere through difficulties

• Trust even without immediate answers

• Rest in God’s faithfulness

• Walk by faith, not by feelings

Conclusion

The absence of visible signs does not mean the absence of God. He is present in silence, waiting, pain, and joy alike. The promise remains firm: God never abandons us.

Lord God,
Thank you because your word assures us that we are never alone. Even when fear, pain, or uncertainty try to make us doubt, help us trust in your constant presence. Introdução

Uma das maiores lutas da vida cristã é lidar com a sensação de solidão, especialmente em momentos de dor, perda, provação ou silêncio aparente de Deus. No entanto, a Palavra de Deus nos assegura repetidamente que Ele nunca nos abandona. Mesmo quando não O sentimos, Ele permanece presente, fiel e atuante.

1. A promessa constante da presença de Deus

Desde o Antigo Testamento, Deus afirma Sua presença contínua com o Seu povo.

 “Não te deixarei, nem te desampararei.”
(Josué 1:5)

Essa promessa não foi apenas para Josué, mas reflete o caráter imutável de Deus. Ele é um Deus que caminha com os Seus, mesmo em territórios desconhecidos.

📖 “Ainda que eu ande pelo vale da sombra da morte, não temerei mal algum, porque tu estás comigo.”
(Salmos 23:4)

A presença de Deus não nos isenta dos vales, mas nos garante companhia, proteção e direção neles.

2. Deus permanece mesmo quando falhamos

Muitas vezes pensamos que Deus se afasta por causa dos nossos erros, fraquezas ou pecados. Porém, a Bíblia nos ensina que Sua fidelidade não depende da nossa perfeição.

“Se formos infiéis, Ele permanece fiel, pois não pode negar a si mesmo.”
(2 Timóteo 2:13)

O amor de Deus é gracioso e restaurador. Ele corrige, disciplina, mas nunca abandona Seus filhos.

 “O Senhor não rejeitará o seu povo, nem desamparará a sua herança.”
(Salmos 94:14)

3. Jesus: a prova viva de que Deus está conosco

Em Jesus, vemos a maior evidência de que Deus não nos abandona.

“Eis que a virgem conceberá e dará à luz um filho, e ele será chamado Emanuel (que quer dizer: Deus conosco).”
(Mateus 1:23)

Mesmo na cruz, quando Jesus experimentou a dor mais profunda, o plano de redenção estava sendo cumprido. Sua ressurreição prova que o abandono nunca tem a palavra final.

“E eis que estou convosco todos os dias, até a consumação dos séculos.”
(Mateus 28:20)

4. Aplicação para a vida cristã

Crer que Deus nunca nos abandona nos fortalece para:

• Perseverar em meio às dificuldades

• Confiar mesmo sem respostas imediatas

• Descansar na fidelidade de Deus

• Caminhar pela fé, não por sentimentos

 “Porque andamos por fé, e não por vista.”
(2 Coríntios 5:7)

Conclusão

A ausência de sinais visíveis não significa ausência de Deus. Ele está presente no silêncio, na espera, na dor e também na alegria. A promessa permanece firme: Deus nunca nos abandona.

Senhor Deus,
Obrigado porque a Tua Palavra nos garante que nunca estamos sozinhos. Mesmo quando o medo, a dor ou a incerteza tentam nos fazer duvidar, ajuda-nos a confiar na Tua presença constante. Let us acknowledge the Lord;

Let us press on to acknowledge him.

As surely as the sun rises,
He will appear
He  will come to us like the winter rains,

 Like the spring rains that water the earth.

Context of Hosea 6:3

The prophet Hosea spoke to a people who only knew God superficially. Israel maintained religious rituals, but they did not live in a sincere relationship with the Lord.

In verse 3, God issues a call for genuine repentance and a continuous, not momentary, relationship.

👉 Knowing God is not an event; it is a process.

2️⃣ “Let us know, let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord”

This phrase reveals two important truths:

🔹 Know (Let us know)

Refers to the start of the relationship with God — conversion, surrender, decision.

🔹 Pursue the knowledge (Let us pursue the knowledge)

Goes beyond the beginning. It speaks of:

* Continuous spiritual growth

* Perseverance in the faith

* A daily search for intimacy with God

God desires constant communion, not occasional visits.

3️⃣ Knowing God is Relational, not merely Intellectual

In the Bible, "to know" (Hebrew: yada) involves intimacy, experience, and obedience.

📖 Jeremiah 9:23-24

But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord…”

“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God…”

 Knowing God transforms character, decisions, and priorities.

4️⃣ The Promise for Those Who Pursue

Hosea uses two powerful figures of speech:

🌅 “His going forth is established as the morning” (Like the dawn)

Just as the sun rises every day, God is faithful to reveal Himself to those who seek Him.

📖 Lamentations 3:22-23

 “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning…”

He will come to us like the rain… to the earth”

Rain symbolizes:

* Spiritual renewal

* Growth

* Life and fruitfulness

“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven… So shall My word be…”

 5️⃣ Spiritual Benefits of Pressing On to Know the Lord

✅ Spiritual Maturity

We stop being unstable and grow in faith.

We recognize His direction more clearly.

One who knows God trusts Him, even in difficult times.

Just as the rain waters the dry earth, God renews, strengthens, and causes those who decide to seek Him daily to bear fruit.

Let us know, let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord.

“Lord God,

We thank You that Your faithfulness is established as the morning, certain and constant. We recognize that often we seek You superficially or only in moments of crisis.

Forgive us for our lack of depth and for being content with merely intellectual knowledge. We desire to go deeper.

Father, Your call in Hosea 6:3 is our cry today: ‘Let us know, let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord.’

Grant us the hunger and the discipline for a daily pursuit. May Your Holy Spirit come upon us like the latter rain, watering the dry ground of our hearts. Renew us, strengthen our faith, and cause us to bear fruit in Your character.

Introduction

John chapter 6 records a decisive moment in Jesus’ ministry. After the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and His teaching about being the “Bread of Life,” many disciples became offended. The message was deep, challenging, and required faith rather than excitement.
Scripture tells us that many turned back and no longer walked with Him (John 6:66).

Then Jesus turns to the Twelve and asks a direct and searching question:
“Do you also want to go away?”

It is at this moment that Peter makes one of the most powerful confessions of faith in the Bible.

1. When Many Walk Away

The disciples were not immune to pressure. They saw people leaving, heard criticism, and felt the weight of following a message that was no longer popular.

This teaches us that:

• Following Jesus is not always comfortable

• God’s Word will not always please the flesh

• Faith is not sustained by crowds, but by conviction

📖 “In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

True faith is revealed when the message confronts us, not when it entertains us.

2. A Question That Confronts Our Faith

Jesus does not force anyone to stay. He allows freedom of choice and asks:
“Do you also want to go away?”

This question still echoes today:

• When prayers seem unanswered

• When obedience requires sacrifice

• When following Christ costs us something

Mature faith does not deny difficulty, but chooses to remain.

Peter does not say where, but to whom.

This shows us that Christianity is:

• Not merely a belief system

• Not a religion of rules

• But a relationship with a living Savior

Outside of Christ:

• There may be words, but no life

• Promises, but no eternity

Peter recognizes a fundamental truth: Jesus’ words produce eternal life.

Other voices may:

• Inspire temporarily

• Encourage for a season

• Leads to salvation

Conclusion

In a world full of alternatives, philosophies, empty promises, and easy paths, the question remains:
To whom shall we go?

When everything seems confusing, when many give up, when following Christ requires perseverance, the answer remains the same:

👉 Only Jesus has the words of eternal life.
👉 Only He gives meaning to our faith.
👉 Only He is enough.

May we be able to say, like Peter, not out of emotion but out of conviction:
“Lord, we remain, because life is found in You.”

Let's pray:

Lord Jesus,
Today, we declare, just as Peter did, that there is no other way besides You.
When many walk away, we choose to remain.
When we do not understand everything, we choose to trust.

You have the words of eternal life,
words that heal, restore, and transform our hearts.
Keep us from seeking answers outside of Your presence
and strengthen our faith in difficult days.

May our decision to follow You not be based on emotions,
but on conviction, surrender, and genuine love.
To whom shall we go, Lord, if You alone are the source of life?

We give You our lives, our faith, and our worship.

Introdução

O capítulo 6 do Evangelho de João apresenta um momento decisivo no ministério de Jesus. Após o milagre da multiplicação dos pães e o ensino profundo sobre o “Pão da Vida”, muitos discípulos se escandalizam. A mensagem era dura, confrontadora, e exigia fé, não apenas entusiasmo.
A Bíblia diz que muitos deixaram de andar com Ele (João 6:66). Então Jesus olha para os doze e faz uma pergunta direta:
“Vocês também não querem ir?”

É nesse contexto que Pedro responde com uma das declarações mais profundas da fé cristã.

1. Quando muitos vão embora

Os discípulos não estavam imunes à pressão. Eles viram pessoas indo embora, ouviram críticas, sentiram o peso de seguir um ensino que não era popular.

Isso nos ensina que:

• Seguir Jesus nem sempre será confortável

• Nem sempre a Palavra será fácil de ouvir

• Nem sempre estaremos rodeados por multidões

“No mundo tereis aflições, mas tende bom ânimo.” (João 16:33)

A fé verdadeira é provada quando a mensagem não agrada à carne, mas transforma o coração.

2. A pergunta que confronta a nossa fé

Jesus não impede ninguém de ir. Ele não força permanência.
Ele pergunta: “Vocês também não querem ir?”

Essa pergunta ecoa até hoje:

• Quando a oração parece não ter resposta

• Quando a caminhada cristã exige renúncia

• Quando obedecer custa caro

A fé madura não ignora as dificuldades, mas decide permanecer apesar delas.

3. “Para quem iremos nós?”

Pedro não diz: “para onde”, mas “para quem”.

Isso revela que:

• O cristianismo não é apenas um sistema de crenças

• Não é uma religião baseada em regras

• É um relacionamento com uma Pessoa viva

Fora de Cristo:

• Há palavras, mas não há vida

• Há promessas, mas não há eternidade

• Há caminhos, mas não há salvação

“Eu sou o caminho, a verdade e a vida.” (João 14:6)

4. Só Jesus tem palavras de vida eterna

Pedro reconhece algo essencial: as palavras de Jesus geram vida eterna.

Outras vozes podem:

• Motivar por um momento

• Animar por uma estação

• Agradar os ouvidos

Mas somente a palavra de Cristo:

• Transforma o coração

• Cura a alma

• Conduz à salvação

“As palavras que eu vos disse são espírito e são vida.” (João 6:63)

Conclusão

Em um mundo cheio de alternativas, filosofias, promessas vazias e caminhos fáceis, a pergunta permanece:
Para quem iremos nós?

Quando tudo parece confuso, quando muitos desistem, quando seguir a Cristo exige perseverança, a resposta continua sendo a mesma:

Só Jesus tem as palavras de vida eterna.
Só Ele dá sentido à nossa fé.
Só Ele é suficiente.

Que possamos dizer, como Pedro, não por emoção, mas por convicção:
“Senhor, nós ficamos, porque a vida está em Ti.”

Senhor Jesus,
Reconhecemos que muitas vezes somos tentados a olhar para outros caminhos.
Mas hoje declaramos que não há outro além de Ti.
Somente Tu tens palavras que geram vida, esperança e salvação.
Ajuda-nos a permanecer quando for difícil,
a confiar quando não entendermos
e a seguir-Te não por interesse, mas por amor.

Para quem iremos nós, Senhor, se só Tu tens a vida eterna?
