From the dust to the throne

Text (Psalm 113:7-9)

"He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes, with the princes of his people. He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children. Praise the Lord!"

In this passage, we see three divine movements that define God's character:

• Identification: He sees those in the "dust" and "ash heap" (places of humiliation and social rejection).

• Action: He doesn't just offer comfort; He lifts and changes the person's position.

• Restoration of Identity: He transforms the marginalized into nobility and the barren into a mother, changing how society and the person themselves see their worth.

2. Biblical Examples of Radical Transformation

God has an extensive "resume" of turning what was discarded into something precious. Here are examples of people who rose from the "bottom of the pit":

Joseph: From Prison to the Governance of Egypt

Joseph was sold by his brothers, falsely accused, and forgotten in a dungeon. He reached the lowest point a human could reach at the time: a foreign slave and prisoner.

• The Turning Point: God gave him the interpretation of Pharaoh’s dreams. In a single day, Joseph shed his prison clothes and wore the king’s signet ring (Genesis 41).

• The Lesson: The bottom of the pit was simply the training ground for the throne.

Mephibosheth: From Lo-Debar to the King’s Table

Mephibosheth was King Saul's grandson, but due to a tragedy, he became lame in both feet and lived hidden in Lo-Debar—a place that, at the time, signified a "place of no pasture" or "place of forgetfulness." He described himself as a "dead dog" (2 Samuel 9:8).

• The Turning Point: King David, out of love for Jonathan, sent for him. Mephibosheth began to eat at the king's table as one of his own sons.

• The Lesson: God’s grace seeks us out in our isolation and restores the inheritance we thought was lost.

Hannah: From Barrenness to Prophetic Motherhood

Hannah suffered the pain of infertility and the contempt of her rival. In that culture, being barren was synonymous with a lack of value and purpose.

• The Turning Point: After an anguished prayer, God "remembered" her. She gave birth to Samuel, who became one of Israel’s greatest prophets (1 Samuel 1).

• The Lesson: God transforms public shame into a testimony of joy.

3. How God Operates at the "Bottom of the Pit"

Stage	What God Does	Related Passage
The Gaze	God sees what the world ignores.	"The Lord does not look at the things people look at... the Lord looks at the heart." (1 Sam 16:7)
The Invitation	He calls us to a new reality.	"Come to me, all you who are weary..." (Mat 11:28)

Let's pray

"Heavenly Father, we come into Your presence with grateful hearts because we know that You are not a distant God. You are the God who stoops down to look upon us, who seeks us out in the dust and lifts us from the ash heap of our circumstances.

I pray for every person who feels at the 'bottom of the pit' today—forgotten, worthless, or without hope. May Your Holy Spirit breathe life and dignity over them right now. Just as You changed the destiny of Joseph, Mephibosheth, and Hannah, change the story of the one reading this message as well. May garments of shame be exchanged for garments of praise, and may their identity as a beloved child be fully restored. We pray in the name of Jesus, Amen."

"Ele levanta do pó o necessitado e do lixo ergue o pobre, para fazê-los sentar-se com príncipes, com os príncipes do seu povo. Dá à mulher estéril uma família e a faz feliz mãe de filhos. Louvem o Senhor!"

Neste trecho, vemos três movimentos divinos que definem o caráter de Deus:

• Identificação: Ele vê quem está no "pó" e no "lixo" (lugares de humilhação e descarte social).
• Ação: Ele não apenas consola, Ele ergue e muda a posição da pessoa.
• Restauração de Identidade: Ele transforma o marginalizado em nobre e a estéril em mãe, mudando como a sociedade e a própria pessoa se veem.

2. Exemplos Bíblicos de Transformação Radical

Deus tem um "currículo" extenso em transformar o que ninguém queria em algo precioso. Veja alguns exemplos de pessoas que saíram do "fundo do poço":

José: Da Prisão ao Governo do Egito

José foi vendido pelos irmãos, falsamente acusado de assédio e esquecido em uma masmorra. Ele chegou ao ponto mais baixo que um ser humano poderia chegar na época: escravo e prisioneiro estrangeiro.

• A Virada: Deus deu a ele a interpretação dos sonhos de Faraó. Em um único dia, José tirou as roupas de prisioneiro e vestiu o anel de selar do rei (Gênesis 41).
• A Lição: O fundo do poço foi apenas o lugar de treinamento para o trono.

Mefibosete: De Lo-Debar à Mesa do Rei

Mefibosete era neto do rei Saul, mas devido a uma tragédia, ficou aleijado de ambos os pés e vivia escondido em Lo-Debar — um lugar que, na época, significava "lugar sem pasto" ou "lugar de esquecimento". Ele se descrevia como um "cão morto" (2 Samuel 9:8).

• A Virada: O Rei Davi, por amor a Jônatas, mandou buscá-lo. Mefibosete passou a comer à mesa do rei como se fosse um de seus filhos.
• A Lição: A graça de Deus nos busca em nosso isolamento e nos devolve a herança que pensávamos ter perdido.

Ana: Da Esterilidade à Maternidade Profética

Citada indiretamente no versículo 9 do Salmo 113, Ana sofria a dor da esterilidade e o desprezo de sua rival, Penina. Naquela cultura, ser estéril era sinônimo de falta de valor e propósito.

• A Virada: Após uma oração angustiada no templo, Deus "se lembrou" de Ana. Ela deu à luz Samuel, que se tornou um dos maiores profetas de Israel (1 Samuel 1).
• A Lição: Deus transforma a nossa vergonha pública em um testemunho de alegria.

3. Como Deus opera no "Fundo do Poço"

O Olhar :

Deus vê o que o mundo ignora.

"O Senhor não vê como o homem:

 o homem vê a aparência, mas o Senhor vê o coração." (1 Sam 16:7)

O Convite

-Ele chama para uma nova realidade:

"Venham a mim todos os que estão cansados..." (Mat 11:28)

A Honra-

Ele restaura o valor e a autoridade.

"E, se somos filhos, somos também herdeiros..." (Rom 8:17)

Conclusão e Aplicação

O Salmo 113 nos ensina que para Deus não existe caso perdido. O "lixo" mencionado no texto original refere-se ao lugar onde as cinzas e os restos eram jogados. Se você se sente assim hoje — descartado ou sem valor — lembre-se que Deus é especialista em "reciclar" destinos.

Ele não quer apenas tirar você do poço; Ele quer que você se sente à mesa com Ele. A sua situação atual não é o seu destino final.

Vamos orar,

"Pai Celestial, entramos na Tua presença com o coração grato porque sabemos que o Senhor não é um Deus distante. Tu és o Deus que se inclina para nos ver, que nos busca no pó e nos levanta do lixo das circunstâncias.

Eu peço por cada pessoa que se sente hoje no 'fundo do poço', esquecida, sem valor ou sem esperança. Que o Teu Espírito Santo sopre vida e dignidade sobre elas agora. Assim como o Senhor mudou a sorte de José, Mefibosete e Ana, muda também a história de quem lê esta mensagem. Que as vestes de vergonha sejam trocadas por vestes de louvor e que a identidade de filho amado seja restaurada. Oramos em nome de Jesus, Amém."

“Then He who sat on the throne said, ‘Behold, I make all things new.’ And He said to me, ‘Write, for these words are true and faithful.’”

1. God Is the Author of Transformation

In Revelation 21:5, God makes a powerful declaration: He makes all things new. This promise points to the future restoration of all creation, but it also reveals a spiritual truth we experience today: God transforms lives.

God’s work is not superficial. He changes:

• Bad habits

• Thoughts and attitudes

• Character

• Our way of seeing life

When we surrender to Him, we are transformed by His power and by the work of the Holy Spirit.

2. God Changes Our Inner Being

True transformation begins from the inside out.

Verses about change and transformation:

• 2 Corinthians 5:17
  “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

• Romans 12:2
  “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind...”

• Ezekiel 36:26
  “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you...”

• Galatians 2:20
  “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me...”

• Psalm 51:10
  “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

These verses show that God not only forgives but renews, restores, and transforms the whole person.

3. Visible Transformation: Miracles of Jesus

Jesus’ ministry was marked by miracles that completely changed people’s condition—physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

3.1 The Gadarene Demoniac

• Before: Living among the tombs, bound with chains, violent and rejected.

• After: Clothed, in his right mind, and desiring to follow Jesus.

👉 Jesus transformed a man dominated by darkness into a restored and free person.

3.2 The Woman with the Issue of Blood

📖 Mark 5:25–34

• Before: Twelve years sick, considered unclean, isolated, and hopeless.

• After: Healed, restored, and called “daughter” by Jesus.

👉 Beyond physical healing, she received emotional and spiritual restoration.

3.3 Blind Bartimaeus

📖 Mark 10:46–52

• Before: Blind, a beggar, and marginalized.

• Afterward, he regained his sight and followed Jesus on the road.

👉 Those who truly encounter Jesus never remain the same.

• Before: Paralyzed and dependent on others.

• After: Forgiven, healed, and walking.

      Jesus healed the soul first, then the body.

    True transformation is also revealed in character and behavior.

4. Application to Our Lives

The same Jesus who transformed lives in the past continues to work today.
He:

• Breaks addictions

• Restores relationships

• Heals inner wounds

• Gives new purpose

• Renews the mind and heart

When we surrender our lives to Him, the old is left behind, and the new begins.

5. Conclusion

Revelation 21:5 is not only a future promise but a present reality for those who are in Christ.
The God who will create new heavens and a new earth is the same God who makes new lives today.

God does not repair old stories; He makes everything new.

Let's pray

Lord, our God and Father,

we thank You because You are the God who makes all things new.
We confess that many times we carry habits, thoughts, and attitudes that do not please You.
Therefore, we ask You to transform us by Your power.

Renew our minds, change our hearts, and shape our character according to Your will.
Just as Jesus transformed lives, heal us inside and out.
May the old pass away, and may the new life in Christ be evident in us every day.

We trust in Your Word, for it is true and faithful.
By faith, we receive the transformation that comes from You.

“Eis que faço novas todas as coisas”

“E o que estava assentado sobre o trono disse: Eis que faço novas todas as coisas. E disse-me: “Escreve, porque estas palavras são verdadeiras e fiéis.”

1. Deus é o Autor da Transformação

Em Apocalipse 21:5, Deus faz uma declaração poderosa: Ele faz novas todas as coisas. Essa promessa aponta para a restauração final de todas as coisas, mas também revela uma verdade espiritual que já experimentamos hoje: Deus transforma vidas.

A obra de Deus não é superficial. Ele muda:

• Maus hábitos

• Pensamentos e atitudes

• Nosso caráter

• Nosso modo de ver a vida

Quando nos rendemos a Ele, somos transformados pelo Seu poder e pela ação do Espírito Santo.

2. Deus Muda Nosso Interior

A verdadeira transformação começa de dentro para fora.

  “Cria em mim, ó Deus, um coração puro, e renova em mim um espírito reto.”

Esses versículos mostram que Deus não apenas perdoa, mas renova, restaura e transforma o ser humano por completo.

3. Transformação Visível: Milagres de Jesus

O ministério de Jesus foi marcado por milagres que mudaram completamente a condição das pessoas — física, emocional, social e espiritualmente.

3.1 O Endemoninhado Gadareno

Marcos 5:1–15

• Antes: Vivendo entre sepulcros, acorrentado, violento e excluído da sociedade.

• Depois: Vestido, em perfeito juízo e desejando seguir Jesus.

      Jesus transformou um homem dominado pelas trevas em alguém restaurado e livre.

3.2 A Mulher com Fluxo de Sangue

      Marcos 5:25–34

• Antes: Doze anos doente, considerada impura, isolada e sem esperança.

• Depois: Curada, restaurada e chamada de “filha” por Jesus.

      Além da cura física, ela recebeu restauração emocional e espiritual.

3.3 O Cego Bartimeu

      Marcos 10:46–52

• Antes: Cego, mendigo e marginalizado.

• Depois: Passou a enxergar e seguiu Jesus pelo caminho.

         Quem tem um encontro verdadeiro com Jesus não volta a viver da mesma forma.

3.4 O Paralítico de Cafarnaum

       Marcos 2:1–12

• Antes: Paralisado e dependente.

• Depois: Perdoado, curado e andando.

 Jesus primeiro curou a alma e depois o corpo.

3.5 Zaqueu – Transformação de Caráter

      Lucas 19:1–10

• Antes: Cobrador de impostos, corrupto e rejeitado.

• Depois: arrependido, generoso e transformado.

    A verdadeira transformação também se manifesta no caráter e nas atitudes.

4. Aplicação para Nossas Vidas

O mesmo Jesus que transformou vidas no passado continua operando hoje.
Ele:

• Quebra vícios

• Restaura relacionamentos

• Cura feridas da alma

• Dá um novo propósito

• Renova a mente e o coração

Quando entregamos nossa vida a Ele, o velho fica para trás e o novo começa.

5. Conclusão

Apocalipse 21:5 não é apenas uma promessa futura, mas uma realidade presente para quem está em Cristo.
O Deus que fará novos céus e nova terra é o mesmo que hoje faz novas vidas.

Deus não remenda histórias; Ele faz tudo novo.

Vamos orar?

Senhor nosso Deus e Pai,
nós Te agradecemos porque Tu és o Deus que faz novas todas as coisas.
Reconhecemos que, muitas vezes, carregamos hábitos, pensamentos e atitudes que não Te agradam.
Por isso, pedimos: transforma-nos pelo Teu poder.

Renova a nossa mente, muda o nosso coração e molda o nosso caráter segundo a Tua vontade.
Assim como Jesus transformou vidas, cura-nos por dentro e por fora.
Que o velho fique para trás e que a nova vida em Cristo se manifeste em nós todos os dias.

Nós confiamos na Tua Palavra, porque ela é verdadeira e fiel.
Recebemos, pela fé, a transformação que vem do Senhor.
