A Call to Choose Today

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” (NIV)

Life is full of choices like that, and Jesus knew it. In this verse, He talks about two roads—two paths we can take in life. And here’s what He says: one road is wide and easy, and most people take it. But it leads to a dead end. The other road is narrow and tough, and only a few take it—but it leads to real life.

Let’s break it down together.

1. The Wide Road Looks Good… But It’s a Trap

The wide road is the path where anything goes.

  • It’s the "do what you want" life.

  • It’s living for likes, popularity, pleasure, or status.

  • It’s blending in with the crowd instead of standing out for Christ.

At first,it seems funny.No limits,no pressure.

But Jesus says it ends in destruction. Not because God wants to ruin your fun, but because that road leads you away from Him, away from peace, away from purpose.

And let’s be honest. Sometimes the crowd is wrong.

2. The Narrow Road Is Hard… But It’s Worth It

The narrow road is the Jesus road.

  • It means loving people who annoy you.

  • It means forgiving when you want to hold a grudge.

  • It means saying “no” to sin even when nobody’s watching.

It’s not always popular. You might feel like you're the only one doing it. But guess what? You’re never alone. Jesus is with you on that road. And that road leads to something real—life, joy, peace, purpose, and eternity with God.

This is the road of courage, character, and calling. It's not just about going to heaven—it's about living a meaningful life now.

3. Few Find It. So be the One!

Jesus says only a few find the narrow road. That’s not because it’s hidden—it’s because it’s hard. And most people settle for easy.

But you’re not “most people.” You’re chosen. You’re called. You’ve got the Spirit of God in you. So don’t just follow the crowd—follow Christ.

The crowd may laugh now, but the ones who follow Jesus will have the last word—because they chose life, not hype.

Conclusion:

So, here’s the challenge:
Which road are you on?

The wide road that’s easy but empty?
Or the hard and narrow road but full of life?

Don’t let fear, pressure, or popularity make the decision for you. You were made for more. You were made for the narrow way.

It may be hard, but it's holy.
It may be lonely, but you're never alone.
It may be different, but it leads to life.

Choose Jesus. Walk the narrow path. Live fully alive.

God bless you!
