“And if your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life maimed than, having two hands, to go to hell…
And if your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off…
And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out…”

1. Introduction: What did Jesus mean?

Jesus uses strong language to teach us a deep spiritual truth:
➡️ Everything that distances us from God must be urgently removed.

He is not speaking literally about physical mutilation, but about a radical decision:

✔ Cutting off habits
✔ Breaking harmful practices
✔ Abandoning certain paths

Because sin, when not dealt with, grows, dominates, and destroys.

2. The danger of not cutting off evil

Many people think:
“It’s just a habit…”
“It’s not that bad…”
“I can stop whenever I want…”

But the Word of God shows that sin never stays small.

📖 James 1:15

“Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.”

➡️ The problem doesn’t start big — it starts at the root.

3. Harmful habits that are destroying lives and families

Today we clearly see how small compromises have caused great destruction:

• Husbands who trade time with their wives for pornography
• Improper conversations in chats
• Addiction to sensual content

“For by means of a harlot a man is reduced to a piece of bread…”

“For the lips of an immoral woman drip honey… but in the end she is bitter as wormwood…”

➡️ What begins as curiosity ends in destruction.

4. What are we allowing into our eyes?

We live in a generation saturated with content:

• Erotic programs
• Excessive violence
• Content with evil influence
• Distorted values being normalized

📖 Psalm 101:3

“I will set nothing wicked before my eyes…”

➡️ What you see feeds your soul.
➡️ What you consume shapes your heart.

5. There is a war against God’s values

We need to understand something spiritual:

⚠️ There is a constant influence trying to:

• Destroy families
• Normalize sin
• Weaken principles
• Distance people from God

📖 Romans 12:2

“And do not be conformed to this world…”

➡️ Not everything that is common is right.
➡️ Not everything that is accepted is approved by God.

6. Cutting at the root requires decision

Jesus was clear:
➡️ If it causes you to fall, cut it off.

This means:

• Stop watching certain content
• Block access that leads you to sin
• End improper conversations
• Change daily habits
• Flee from dangerous environments

“Flee sexual immorality…”

➡️ It’s not just about resisting — it’s about fleeing!

“Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”

If you do not cut the root:

• Sin grows
• The heart becomes hardened
• Your communion with God grows cold

But when you cut it:

• There is restoration
• There is deliverance
• There is a healthy spiritual life

Jesus calls us to a decision:

Lord,
