“...Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”
🌿 Introduction
In the Bible, the rod is not just a physical tool — it carries a deep spiritual meaning. It represents authority, discipline, and direction.
Just as a shepherd uses the rod to protect, correct, and guide his sheep, God uses His “rod” in our lives.
Many Christians live defeated not because they lack power, but because they do not use the authority given to them, lack discipline, and walk outside God’s direction.

God used Moses’ rod as an instrument of power.

“I have given you authority...”

“They will cast out demons... heal the sick.”
👉 Jesus gave us authority!

“The Lord disciplines those He loves.”

👉 Discipline brings alignment with God.

God leads us through:
- His Word
- The Holy Spirit
- Life circumstances
🪵 4. Men who walked in authority
Moses, Joshua, David, Elijah, Elisha, Peter, and Paul all demonstrated God’s authority.
👉 Authority flows from:
Intimacy + Obedience + Faith
🪵 5. The Problem Today
Many Christians:
- do not use their authority
- live in fear
- lack discipline
🪵 6. Jesus Gave Us Full Authority

“All authority has been given to Me.”

“You will do greater works.”
🙏 Let's pray.
Lord God,
Thank You for the authority given through Jesus Christ. Teach us to walk in discipline, direction, and power.
Help us use this authority to overcome evil, heal the sick, and set captives free.
Guide us, Holy Spirit, and keep us close to You.
